Therapy is an excellent resource, but it is often conducted once weekly or less. This leaves six days a week of therapy free time, which is where workbooks and books may help. Workbooks can be highly beneficial complements to therapy, offering structured exercises and activities that allow individuals to delve deeper into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors between therapy sessions. Workbooks and in-between-session homework assignments also further the goal of developing the necessary skills to self-regulate. These resources provide a framework for self-reflection and skill-building, empowering individuals to actively engage in their own healing process.

Here are a couple of workbooks that may assist you on your journey. As I am the author of these books, I earn a small commission off of each sale. Even if you choose to use a different workbook there is value in engaging in work outside of the counseling session. I encourage you to find the style of book or workbook that best meets your needs no matter who the author is.
